We had a "coffee table discussion" in office this morning about the lack of security in our country. I personally think its a lack of intelligence, because there are very few places on earth that can defend itself against 15-20 heavily armed, intelligent and motivated terrorists. Good intelligence need very little security to back it up. Time and again, we have failed miserably at both.
The terrorist have found the sweet-spot that serves more that one purpose:
1) Kill people
2) Terrorize
3) Hit the economy
By specifically targeting US and UK nationals they have sent clear message. If we can't come onto your shores to kill American and Brits we will find them elsewhere. India's pseudo 8% growth rate will take a hit in time to come. Mumbai and specifically the economic hub of south mumbai is a priceless trophy for the Indian/Deccan, Mujra-hi-din.
This time the tragedy is closer to my heart cause my mum is in Mumbai visiting my uncle who is in a hospital awaiting heart surgery and my wife lost a friend in the firing. I have NEVER felt so powerless in my entire life.

dont see a better world in my lifetime at least...
things ain't gonna better for times to come. we all understand and accept that. the question is - what can be done to maintain the security of the self??
Learning - you yourself has to get up and protect your loved one, friends , family , yourself and yourworkplace....i am proud to be with an org where this happened and is in the soul of every employee ;(
It is very very hard to believe after working in Taj Mahal Mumbai. Its not an hotel, but mother of all Taj hotels. Its like home for us.Its like our own mother.I have worked in that hotel & I know chefs who gave their lives protecting guests & other staff in hotel.Wish I was there helping, protecting guests & my staff. There is nothing like giving life in uniform.... I am proud that i am working for Taj & proud that I am Chef.
