The term ragamuffin is used to refer to a child clothed in shabby, ill-fitting or dirty clothes. More generally it can also be used as a pejorative term to refer to a ragged, disreputable person. It is also used as a term of endearment - for example, when people refer to children as "little ragamuffins".

But, I'd just assumed it was something you'd found online somewhere. Since you actually came up with it on your own, the corny scale had to be reassessed...you're a 1:10 now. =)
